Well..what I am going to be taking from this class which I think will be helpful in the future will be the skills that I learned in public speaking this semester! I learned a lot of things, from
tips that help a person relax when speaking to an audience, (like how the professor told us to break in and out, take 3 deep breaths) making eye contact, keeping your speech at a steady pace, to observe what kind of audience you have, the different ethnicities and ideas of people so to speak. These are all very important and will allow one to have good future speeches. I want to become a high school english teacher so I am pretty sure that I will need good speaking skills because I will be speaking to a large group of students 5 days a week for years. I really think this class will help me in my career and will allow me to have better communication with my students. :)

I am very glad that you learned a lot during this class. What one tip was the most helpful for you though? You mentioned that you learned a lot of things such as relaxing when speaking to the audience, making eye contact, saying your speech at a steady pace, observing your audience, etc. But one thing that you learned jumped out to you the most. Good job though. It seems like you have learned a lot from this class that would make you become a successful English teacher in the future. That does seem like a very fun career that I’m sure you would enjoy.

ReplyDeleteI am glad you so much out of this class. If you didn't that would have been a waste right? I found that the relax tips were very helpful as well. Taking three deep breaths before starting the speech was very helpful too. I wish we would have been given this tip at the begginning of the year, and not during the last speech. I also found that it was very important to know which audience you are presenting to, otherwise your point will not get across. And yes, since you are becoming a high school teacher you will very much have to speak in front of others all the time, espcially after you are done with school.
